Flashback to the 2014 athletics season saw a foot ailment suffered earlier in the year sideline Bolt and limiting him to just three races in 2014. Despite an injury plagued 2014 season the Jamaican superstar still managed to produce a sub-10 performance at an indoor stadium in Warsaw, Poland.
Bolt comfortably put away the field and finished .35 seconds ahead of his closest competitor. The Olympic champion and world record holder (9.58s) eclipsed the previous best mark for the distance by breaking Namibian Frankie Fredericks 10.05 set in 1996.

After the race Bolt said: “Above all I wanted to get through this season without any injury as I’ve suffered enough over the past few years.” He ran his first competitive 100m of that year on August 17th in an exhibition race on Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana beach where he clocked 10.6. sec.
